EASTER SEALS BLAKE FOUNDATION
9TH Year Grant-$15,000

Agency Background:  Easter Seals Blake Foundation was originally founded in 1950, as the Cerebral Palsy Fdn. by a group of Tucson parents who needed therapeutic services for their young children with disabilities during a time when there were few state and local support services.  It became a 501(c)3 organization in 1952, to honor Danny Blake, a vital contributor to the Foundation in 1993.  In 2007, the Blake Foundation was selected to serve as the Easter Seals affiliate for So AZ and became the Easter Seals Blake Foundation.

Focus of the 2018 SCCF Grant:  Parent and Child Tuition Support (PACTS) Provides sliding scale child care tuition assistance for children of low-income working families to attend a high-quality early learning center, Children’s Achievement Center.

Measurable Outcomes: 

  • 100% of families were able to achieve/maintain employment.
  • At least 30% of families improved their economic situation through raises, increased hours or obtaining a different, better paying job.
  • 93% (80/86) of enrolled children meeting or exceeding each developmental domain (social-emotional), physical gross motor, physical fine motor, language, cognitive, and literacy) as measured by standardized assessment tool, “Teaching Strategies Gold”.
