1st Year Grant
Agency Background: Established in 1912, AzCa’s mission is to protect children, empower youth and strengthen families. Professionally trained, caring and dedicated staff provides a broad spectrum of local communities by providing foster care and adoption, behavioral health services, family preservation and reunification, kinship services, parenting education and transitional youth services.
Focus of the 2015 SCCF Grant: (16-21 year olds that are or were involved in AZ State or tribal foster care system). THRIVE mentoring program is a one on one mentor program that matches volunteer mentors to adolescents who are involved in Independent Living Services and are in need of positive supportive relationships.
- 80% report services helped them become self-sufficient
- 70% report services helped them gain job skills, maintain housing, reach educational goals and identify mentors or family connections
