Focus of the 2014 SCCF Grant: Team El Grupo: Youth Leadership & Cycling Development: The grant will enable El Grupo to provide a more holistic education focused after school program by adding structured tutoring hours for our youth riders – called Academic Support Hours. We can extend our mission of youth empowering youth by creating a cycle of “giving back” and support, both on and off the bicycle. SCCF enables El Grupo to grow the number of alumni not only graduating from high school and attending college, but also attaining scholarships to assist them. In 2012, El Grupo supported our first ever youth to gain a cycling scholarship to attend Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado – the premier collegiate cycling team in the nation.
