MAKE WAY FOR BOOKS (MWFB)

Agency Background: MWFB was incorporated as a non-profit organization in March 1998. Its mission is to promote early literacy in limited resource areas of southern Arizona by providing children (birth – 5 yrs) with an opportunity to fall in love with books and reading. The vision is that all children will enter school with the necessary early literacy skills to be successful.
Focus of the 2011 SCCF Grant: MWFB for Babies
Family Literacy Programs serve families with young Children (age birth-5) in Pima County. It is expected that over 4,000 families will be reached in the 2011-2012 program year. Programs include: MWFB for Babies (1000 early literacy kits delivered to 15 home visitation programs), Family Read Aloud Nights (24 events at libraries, reaching 300 families), Blue Book House (used books distributed to 15,000 families), Story Town (family literacy festival).
